How It Works – Your Journey to Volunteering in Ethiopia
At Deldey Volunteers, we make the process of becoming a volunteer simple, seamless, and rewarding. Whether you’re a first-time volunteer or an experienced traveler looking to make an impact, our step-by-step process ensures that you have a hassle-free experience from start to finish.
Step 1: Choose Your Volunteer Program
Browse our Volunteer Programs and select a cause that aligns with your passion and skills. We offer opportunities in education, healthcare, community development, environmental conservation, women & youth empowerment, and skills training. If you're unsure which program is right for you, our team is happy to guide you.
Step 2: Submit Your Application
Complete our online application form by providing basic details about yourself, your background, skills, and preferred program. This helps us match you with the most suitable project where you can make the greatest impact.
Step 3: Confirmation & Program Fee Payment
Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will send you a confirmation email with program details and payment instructions. Our programs are affordable, and your contribution helps cover accommodation, meals, in-country support, and transportation.
Step 4: Pre-Departure Support
After confirming your participation, we will provide you with:
A detailed welcome guide with cultural insights, packing tips, and important travel information.
Visa assistance to help you with the necessary documentation for your stay in Ethiopia.
Step 5: Arrival & Airport Pickup
When you land in Ethiopia, our friendly team will be there to welcome you at the airport. We provide a free airport pickup service and take you directly to your accommodation, ensuring a smooth arrival experience.
Step 6: Orientation & Training
Upon arrival, you will receive an on-site orientation covering Ethiopian culture, safety guidelines, local customs, and expectations for your volunteer role. If required, training will be provided to prepare you for your specific program.
Step 7: Start Your Volunteering Experience
Now it’s time to make a difference! Work closely with our team and local community members to contribute meaningfully to your chosen project. Your work schedule will be flexible, allowing you to engage with locals, explore Ethiopia, and fully immerse yourself in the experience.
Step 8: Cultural Activities & Excursions
In addition to volunteering, we organize weekly excursions in Addis Ababa, cultural experiences, and weekend trips to famous attractions in Ethiopia. These activities give you the opportunity to see the country beyond your volunteer placement.
Step 9: Program Completion & Certificate
At the end of your program, you will receive a certificate of completion recognizing your efforts and contributions. This is a great addition to your resume and a testament to your positive impact on Ethiopian communities.
